В апреле 2021 года в Отделении Московского центра фундаментальной и прикладной математики в ИВМ РАН будет прочитан курс из четырех лекций Игоря Владимировича Каменковича (Professor, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, USA).
Курс нацелен на широкую аудиторию студентов, аспирантов и постдоков, специализирующихся на геофизической математике, физике атмосферы и океана, гидродинамике и математическом моделировании.
Расписание лекций:
6 и 8 апреля. Мезомасштабная циркуляция: динамика и переносы.
13 и 15 апреля. Южный Океан и его роль в термохалинной циркуляции и климате.
Начало всех лекций в 17.30 (время московское). Продолжительность – до 1 час 30 мин.
Формат проведения – дистанционный. Рабочий язык – русский.

About
Igor Kamenkovich is a Professor of Oceanography in the Ocean Sciences Department at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Kamenkovich is studying ocean dynamics and its role in climate, and his research has focused on mesoscale (tens to hundreds of kilometers) and large-scale (hundreds to thousands of kilometers) currents, and on how these currents influence the atmosphere. Kamenkovich combines theory, numerical models and observational data to achieve the most complete understanding of these complex processes.
